Walther P38, AC 42, German Military, Nazi, Matching
Description: Synopsis: Desirable Walther P38, made in 1942, all matching, with correct magazine, holster. SN: 2300l. Cal: 9mmP. Description: Standard configuration P38 with 5” barrel, drift adjustable front sight and fixed rear sight. Address on the left side of slide that includes “ac” manufacturers code, the date “42” and the serial number. Safety positions marked with a white highlighted “S” and a red highlighted “F”. The right side of slide with the usual three acceptances, two of which were applied after bluing. The full serial number is repeated on the left side of the frame, under the barrel and on the locking block. Fitted with the correct dark brown grips. Blued magazine is marked “P.38” on the left side and has the Walther E/359 acceptance on the upper spine. Complete with hard shell holster marked with manufacturer code “P38” on obverse surface. Condition: VG, bright original salt blue with sharp edge and holster wear, especially on the right side of the barrel, that one would expect from field use. Comparable condition front strap, grips and magazine. Bright bore with light, speckling in grooves. Perfect manual mechanics. Holster in crummy condition with a hole in lid and back surface, consider that a throw-in. An excellent and relatively early German WWII pistol that would grace any collection. A HISTORIC INVESTMENT!
