British S&W .455 2nd Model Hand Ejector Revolver
Description:
Serial #56537, .455 Webley, 6 1/2" barrel with an excellent, bright bore.
This handsome revolver has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, yoke, extractor, and barrel, with the metal retaining 90-92% of the original blued finish.
The blue has faded and pitted lightly at the muzzle, with further silvering along all of the projecting edges, and a moderate turn-ring on the cylinder.
The trigger and hammer have about 75% of the original color case-hardening remaining, with speckled dull gray fading on the balance, and the butt has been buffed gray, but the serial number is still crisp and legible.
The revolver is profusely stamped with British acceptance proofs, and there is an unobtrusive import stamp on the underside of the barrel (not visible with the cylinder in place).
The checkered, diamond-center, S&W medallion grips are pencil-numbered to the gun on the interior, and have minor wear and flattening of the points.
The lock-up is still tight and the mechanism functions flawlessly.
This is a very nice .455 hand ejector in about fine condition, and would make a handsome addition to any collection.
