FB Vis Manufactured in WWII by German Occupation Forces in Radom, Poland
Description: This pistol was manufactured at the Fabryka Broni factory in occupied Radom, Poland by the German Army using Polish workers. Some folks consider the VIS to be the best of the WWII service pistols in use during the war, since it incorporated the better features of the U.S. M1911A1 and the Fabrique Nationale Hi Power. This one is a Type 3, or "2-lever" pistol in the E-prefix range, the Germans having eliminated the disassembly lever in favor of combining it with the decocking lever. The pistol shows the usual signs of use and handling on the late war phosphate finish, but the bore is still bright with sharp rifling, so not shot excessively. There is a video at <://youtube/watch?v=nOLIFzatjNQ> that shows the finish of a gun in the same 2nd E block of production as this gun, but the narrator didn't know why it came from the factory without the usual bluing. Interesting. As the photos show, the serial numbers match on the frame, inside the slide, on the right side of the grip safety, and on the barrel lug. There are NO import markings, and all of the German proofmarks can be viewed in the photos. "77" signifies that the pistol was inspected in Radom, Poland and WaA 623 signifies that the gun was inspected again at Steyr in Germany. The reason for a re-inspection in Germany was that the Polish workers were known to have duplicated serial numbers and "re-purposed"" pistols for use by the Polish resistance. This is not one of those, however. Please take note of the photos as they are integral to the description. FFL required. No California sales. This pistol cannot be shipped to any state where it is specifically banned. Buyer to pay actual shipping and insurance costs. Cashier's Check or USPS money orders only, please. As always, it is recommended that all used guns be inspected by a qualified gunsmith prior to firing. Thanks for looking.
