What an unusual history was uncovered while researching this 1942 dated gun. The Kongsberg Model 1914 started life in 1914 when a small quantity of them was purchased from Colt. Just after two small batches were delivered by Colt they began production of them in the Kongsberg Arsenal and continued production until shortly after 1945.
In 1940 the Germans over ran Norway and took over the factory. Norwegian Military records indicate that the total production during Nazi occupation of the factory was approximately 8268 guns
The production during the Nazi Occupation is as follows: 1940 - 95 guns, 1941 - 4099 guns, 1942 - 3154 guns, 1943 and 1944 zero guns, and in 1945 - 920 guns. Only the very last batch of 920 guns were stamped with a Waffenamt. This particular gun is, as previously stated, dated 1942. Right in the middle of the Nazi occupation, making any Kongsberg 1914 dated after the Nazi occupation quite rare indeed.
The condition of this gun is outstanding, retaining about 90- 95% of the original Parkerizing. The loss is contained to slight muzzle, sharp edge silvering and a holster rub mark on the right side of the frame. There is also some grey toning on the front gripstrap. There are no pits, scratches or rust anywhere.
All numbered parts match. It was standard procedure at the Kongsberg Arsenal to number almost every part in the gun. This shows that all parts are original to this Kongsberg Arsenal produced gun. The checkered wooden grips do show some very slight wear with a very small chip on the bottom right grip screw. There are no splits or dings. The bore shows some modest wear and the rifling is strongly present and easily seen with smooth even graying.
The gun comes with 2 correct Kongsberg 1914 magazines. And one very rare original Norwegian holster in really great shape. Still with all the original stitching in place. There are no splits or crackling anywhere on the leather. This is one of the very scarcest Nazi occupation firearms.

Kongsberg (Nazi Production) Norwegian (Colt) Model 1914, Caliber 11.25 mm, Serial Number 280XX.
What an unusual history was uncovered while researching this 1942 dated gun. The Kongsberg Model 1914 started life in 1914 when a small quantity of them was purchased from Colt. Just after two small batches were delivered by Colt they began production of them in the Kongsberg Arsenal and continued production until shortly after 1945.
In 1940 the Germans over ran Norway and took over the factory. Norwegian Military records indicate that the total production during Nazi occupation of the factory was approximately 8268 guns
The production during the Nazi Occupation is as follows: 1940 - 95 guns, 1941 - 4099 guns, 1942 - 3154 guns, 1943 and 1944 zero guns, and in 1945 - 920 guns. Only the very last batch of 920 guns were stamped with a Waffenamt. This particular gun is, as previously stated, dated 1942. Right in the middle of the Nazi occupation, making any Kongsberg 1914 dated after the Nazi occupation quite rare indeed.
The condition of this gun is outstanding, retaining about 90- 95% of the original Parkerizing. The loss is contained to slight muzzle, sharp edge silvering and a holster rub mark on the right side of the frame. There is also some grey toning on the front gripstrap. There are no pits, scratches or rust anywhere.
All numbered parts match. It was standard procedure at the Kongsberg Arsenal to number almost every part in the gun. This shows that all parts are original to this Kongsberg Arsenal produced gun. The checkered wooden grips do show some very slight wear with a very small chip on the bottom right grip screw. There are no splits or dings. The bore shows some modest wear and the rifling is strongly present and easily seen with smooth even graying.
The gun comes with 2 correct Kongsberg 1914 magazines. And one very rare original Norwegian holster in really great shape. Still with all the original stitching in place. There are no splits or crackling anywhere on the leather. This is one of the very scarcest Nazi occupation firearms.
