Description: Striking Swiss Military SIG P49, high polish with plum tone, with updated half cock hammer group, later reworked by the Bern arsenal. The pistol is a standard early configuration single action P49 with 4.75” barrel and drift adjustable front and rear sight. The left side of the slide and frame are proofed and marked with the full serial number that is repeated on the right side of the barrel hood. Safety detents are marked with an “S” in white and “F” in red. “P” release on the left upper trigger guard web. BE (Bern) marked on right upper trigger guard. Disassembly shows a matching, updated hammer group with half cock. Fitted with serrated walnut grips secured with fire blued screw. Fixed lanyard ring. Complete with two early matte finish magazines and a correctly dated “1954” Swiss military holster with a “46” dated strap, taken from a Bern 1929 Luger rig. Synopsis: Fantatic example of a SIG Swiss P49 Early Military Rig, as reworked by Bern. A great looking rig with an interesting history reflecting military use and later reissue. Condition: Excellent bright salt blue as Bern arsenal refinished, the frame having a slight plum tone. The markings around the “P” release and later “BE” Bern reissue are sharp and slightly cratered. Grips with scattered dings and handling marks as pictured. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. VG+ holster with supple leather, stitching showing no repairs.
