Description:
Standard-configuration VKT Model L-35 (Pistooli L-35) FIRST SERIES PRODUCTION MODEL semiautomatic pistol in serial range: 1100-3700, made 1940, specifically engineered to ensure reliable function in extreme cold, SN: 1200, cal. 9mmP, with 4.75-inch (120 mm) barrel, drift adjustable front sight and fixed rear sight. Manufactured by Valtion Kivääritehdas (VKT), this early pistol has a loaded indicator, early pattern bolt accelerator with rounded protrusion, and stock lug. Top of the receiver marked with the hexagonal VKT / "L-35", the left side of the frame marked with serial number “1200,” matched on the barrel extension and top of the bolt. Many of the small parts with an electropenciled "E". Brown molded grips, each with the distinctive VKT logo. Correct Finnish magazine with in-the-white body and blued floorplate. Leather lanyard cord. Complete with an original green leather Finnish military holster, "AV3" stamped on lid, obverse side constructed to hold flat-board shoulder stock in concert with the Hellosingle belt loop. No spare magazine or other accessories.
Designed by renowned Finnish firearms engineer Aimo Lahti, the L-35 was Finland’s first domestically produced military sidearm and saw extensive service with Finnish forces during the Winter War (1939–1940) and Continuation War (1941–1944), earning an envious reputation for durability and reliability under harsh Arctic conditions.

EXC original salt blue finish with light sharp edge wear as consistent with a military pistol that was holstered but likely saw little use as reflected by the condition of the grip straps, grips, magazine, and mirror bore.
