COLT Service Model ACE US Property CSR inspected

Offered for sale is 1940 US Military issued Service Model ACE.  This is a very scarce pistol with the CSR inspector mark.  I have only seen about 6 of these (CSR Inspected) in my collecting career.   The slide is matching numbers.  Every part is correct and likely original including the magazine.  The pistol is also accompanied with a 1937 US Model 1911A1 slide, this slide is unnumbered and was most likely a replacement slide.  A very rare item as well.  The 45 auto barrel is a Springfield Armory made wartime replacement.    Prewar Service Model Ace pistols are very hard to find in any condtion.  Most were known to have been issued to the US Navy and suffered a high loss rate.  
I believe this pistol and 45 slide is worthy of a Turnbull Restoration.  The fact that it is complete is a huge bonus.  No parts needed to complete the project. The pistol is shows no signs of damage or bufffing.   I spoke to Turnbull about removing the nickel finish and they told me its not a problem and only adds a few hundred dollars to the cost.
The 1937 replacement slide is also worth restoring as the rarity factor on an unnumbered 37 slide is very high.
