Description:
REMINGTON RAND 1911A1 in .45 ACP caliber with 5" barrel with bright, glossy bore, made in 1944 about 9 months before the end of WWII. I was an armor in the United States Marine Corps stationed at the San Onofre Armory, Camp Pendleton, California in 1966. I have seen a lot of model 1911 U. S. military pistols. This Remington Rand that I am offering for sale, serial #2070221, is unique in that, in my opinion, it is all factory original, complete and correct. It has NO arsenal re-work stamps, has "P" firing proof stamps on top of slide and left frame indicating that both are mechanically sound, Col. Frank J. Atwood's inspection stamp, crossed cannon ordnance department stamp, "L" stamp on original blued magazine having been manufactured at Little Mfg. Co., Hartford, Conn., original Bakelite Keyes checkered grips with enforcement rings around perfect condition screws, lanyard ring, HS stamp on barrel (High Standard), the pristine original Dulite finish is near flawless. This masterpiece comes with an original Boyt leather 1911 holster date stamped 1944 AND a Boyt canvas and leather soft zipper carry case. This pistol is a must for any discerning military 1911 aficionado or collector of high quality firearms. This is truly a magnificent piece of WWII history as well as a great, reliable shooter. The price is $4500 with free UPS shipping to the FFL dealer near you. Call or text me at 318-780-4242 if you are interested.
