Reworked ithaca Model 1911A1 - With Arsenal Shipping Box
Description: This is an excellent example of an Ithaca Model 1911A1 that was originally issued to the US military during WW2. It was later reworked at the Red River Arsenal in Texarkana, TX. This particular gun comes in an original shipping box from that arsenal. The serial number on the box does not exactly match the gun but is very close - only 2 digits away! At the arsenal, the gun was refinished and given a new serial number. It has a High Standard barrel. There is very little actual finish loss, but there are tiny dings and scuffs here and there. On the whole frame, there is minor pitting under the finish. Excellent WW2-era reddish plastic grips. Comes with a proper WW2-era "R" marked magazine. Mint bore.
