Description: Standard configuration Savage 1907 pistol in .45 ACP made by Savage to compete against the Colt. Production limited to 288 pistols. After the testing, the guns were reworked and sold commercially. Part of the refinish included removing most of the slide legend, leaving only “ CAL .45”. In this case, all parts matched to #80 except the sight bar #66, right grip panel #89, left grip is unnumbered, and the magazine #140. Synopsis: A holy grail for anyone interested in US military pistol development, one of 300 manufactured, this example a rework with an original finish magazine. Condition: VG rework with matte blue generally faded. Exposed barrel hood polished bright. Faded case colors on trigger and magazine release. Comparable condition dark oiled grips with blunted checkering as photographed. VG-Exc. original finish magazine. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics.
