MOSSBERG “BROWNIE” Four Barrel .22 RF Derringer ROARING TWENTIES Pistol C&R O.F. Mossberg’s FIRST GUN/PISTOL Produced
Description: MOSSBERG “BROWNIE” Four Barrel .22 RF Derringer ROARING TWENTIES Pistol C&R O.F. Mossberg’s FIRST GUN/PISTOL Produced Here we present a C&R Mossberg “Brownie” Four-Barrel .22 Caliber Rimfire Derringer Pistol, made circa 1919 to 1932 in New Haven, Connecticut. First off, when people hear the name Mossberg, must gun enthusiasts think shotgun and leave it at that. Little do people realize that O.F. Mossberg and sons actually did make a pistol, and that is what we have here. The Mossberg Brownie is a four shot, .22 Long Rifle pistol, similar to a deringer or pepperbox, produced by O.F. Mossberg & Sons from 1919 to 1932. The Brownie is based on an earlier pistol patented and licensed to the Shattuck Company by Oscar Mossberg where he worked as a manager. After working for Stevens and Marlin-Rockwell, Mossberg and his two sons started a new firearms company of their own in 1919. There were only 33,000 to 37,000 Brownies made during its production run and remains very collectible today. It became the firearm that led to the company’s success from then and beyond. The overall condition is nearing fine. Traces of original finish are present, having mostly matured to a brown patina. Strong action. The bores have dimmed, but have retained some shimmer and contains serviceable rifling. Solid grips. Markings are legible. Own the original! This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrels are 2-1/2 inches. Caliber: .22 Rimfire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1100 #255127 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
