Up for sale is this very fine custom finished faithful rendition of the original Remington New Model Army .44 percussion revolver.  it’s a modern reproduction  of the classic Civil War-era revolver that was marketed under the Lyman name.
The Remington New Model Army (.44 caliber) was a percussion (cap-and-ball) revolver originally made by Remington Arms during the American Civil War and afterward from about 1863 until 1875. It was a six-shot, single-action .44 black powder revolver and one of the most widely used sidearms of the era.
The Lyman .44 New Model  revolvers were generally imported from Italian manufacturers like Armi San Paolo (later Euroarms) or Uberti and sold by Lyman as a branded black-powder handgun. Many Lyman-branded Remington New Model Army replicas were manufactured in the 1970s and 1980s. These were sold primarily to black powder shooters, reenactors, and collectors just after the Civil War centennial ended in 1960s.
This replica was custom finished giving it an antiqued period finish showing pleasing brown finish with blued highlights. It does not appear to have seen any use or very little use and are valuable for shooting and display.
