Custom .50 caliber flintlock pistol by Wyatt Braaten

Description:
This modern hand built pistol features a Green Mountain barrel that was fully octagonal. The barrel was shortened, recrowned,and turned down on a lathe to a half round contour with bands cut in the center. The .50 caliber bore is rifled and in new condition. The gun has been fired several times to confirm that the windage for the front sight is on target. There is no rear sight which was very common on this style pistol. The trigger pull is light and crisp and a White Lightning touch hole liner provides very fast ignition. The stock is made from a blank of curly maple and has relief carving behind the barrel tang and an ebony tip on the ram rod. The metal parts were engraved with a hammer and chisel.
