French 1773 flintlock pistol

<<<SOLD>>>>A newer made Frnech 1773 flintlock pistol used by sea service and military land service. The fit and finish is very good and the lock works very well, and is stiff from not being broken in yet.The flint showers a gererous shower of sparks,  The smooth bore is about .69 cal. and the lock -plate is marked in script and I can't read it, but looks like 18th century writing. This fine gun has brass furniture and the steel is in the white just like an originales with a leather strip and flint for the hammer. It's been fired, but overall a clean gun,  and overall  measures about 17" long. the barrel is 9" long. The wood dlooks like American walnut not foriegn woodes with a steel ram-rod like the original but fits very tight. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith  before  shooting.
