This excellent Georgian flintlock pistol was hand made by contemporary artisan Taylor Anderson using a decoratively carved curly maple stock and engraved silver furniture. The pistol has a 9” tapered round barrel with bands, finished armory bright with a light patina. The builder signed his name, Anderson, along the top of the barrel near the breech. The tang and tang bolt are engraved. A shallow groove is located on the tang to serve as a rear sight for the gun. The smooth bore measures .674” (15 gauge). Ignition for the pistol is provided by the modified Siler flint lock, which is also engraved. A capital “A” is engraved on the lock ahead of the cock and below the pan. Below the lock is a decorative curled trigger, which has been fire-blued. The pistol has a large, engraved silver side plate that is held in position by two engraved dome-headed lock bolts. Both the grip cap and the trigger guard are covered with intricate engraving. A unique metal ramrod is held in place by two pipes. The pistol weighs 2.2 pounds and is 14-5/8” inches in overall length. Originally purchased from Track of the Wolf, Inc. for $1485.00! No FFL required.
