Description:
Replica of an 18th century flintlock black powder pistol chambered in approximately .57 caliber. This early unmarked copy features a 9.6" barrel. The steel shows swirling patterns, possibly Damascus style, especially apparent toward the front of the barrel. The central barrel is decorated with a spear motif terminating in a floral design. The excellent wood is engraved with high relief swirling floral patterns throughout. The butt cap is highly ornate with octagonal facets and a repeating milgrain design, terminating in a pointed pommel. The action functions properly. No maker’s proof mark or serial number is visible.
