<SOLD>>>>This is a very finely made Royal Highland Regiment Pistol. These were issued to the Highland Regiments who were enlisted in service to England in the Seven Years War and later the American Revolution. They vary from the "Murdoch" pistols we are used to seeing as reproductions in that the barrels are round and tapered instead of faceted and instead of a silver oval on the grip there is an engraved rosette.
There is a belt clip on the left side for carriing in waist sash. The top of the barrel is marked "RHR". Most of the original pistols you run into will be marked "Bissell". He operated in Birmingham, so the officially issued Scottish pistols were actually English. Notice the line engraving on the lockplate and cock. The cock has a bevelled edge.Measures bout 14" long overall, with a round 8" tapered barrel. Check my inventory for unusual and rare gun parts and other items.This fine gun gives a generous shower of sparks and is ready to fire , appears to be test fired only.When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
