This Spreewerke P.38 pistol is a first alphabet run, second variation which was made in 1943 or 1944. The 9mm bore is excellent with bright, strong rifling. The gun has been dip blued and retains approx. 90% of the blue. The left side of the slide is marked P38 followed by cyq followed by the serial number, 6763w. The frame below has the serial and the eagle over 88 inspection stamp. The right side of the slide has two eagle over 88 inspection stamps and the eagle firing proof. The hammer spur is corrugated. The brown plastic grips are fine with no warping. The magazine is Waffenamt 359 inspected. The action functions correctly. The black leather holster is very good with tight stitching. It is marked on the rear bml/43 over a WaA23 Waffenamt. P.38 is to the right rear. The spare magazine is marked P38 over U with the large marking. This very nice representative cyq rig is a fit for any German WWII pistol collection.
