This Spreewerke 9mm P.38 pistol is known to collectors as the first alphabet run, second variation. It is circa late 1944 or early 1945. The bore is excellent with bright, strong rifling. The gun retains approx. 92% blue with fading on the grip strap and has eagle over 88 and eagle over NS inspection stamps. The correct reddish brown AEG grips are excellent. The jvd marked magazine was made by ENM (Erste Nordbohmische Metallwaronfabrik) and is correct for this gun. The hammer has the early style ribs. The action functions correctly. Interestingly, this gun has a very nice finish overall. Most Spreewerke P.38s of this era exhibit rough milling and turning marks. This one is definitely an exception!
