High Original Condition Mauser P38 Dual-Tone Pistol, Made 1944, All Matching with Correct Phosphated Magazine.
Description:
Standard configuration Mauser P38 made in 1944/January 1945 with Dual-Tone finish. The left side of the slide is marked with the model, byf/44 code, and full SN that is repeated under the barrel, on the left side of the frame, and the last three digits on the locking block. Right side of slide with usual inspection/test proofs. Fitted with standard black plastic grips and a correct all phosphated magazine whose spine is marked with the WaA135 acceptance. As customary for this era Dual-Tone pistol, the barrel and several small parts are blued; the balance, including the magazine, is phosphate finished.
Condition:
VG/EXC Original phosphate/blued finish with holster wear in expected locations, more noticeable thinning on top of the slide. Comparable condition black plastic grips. Magazine about VG with the phosphate having largely faded from the body. Mirror bore with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. A high condition, no-excuse example of a Mauser Dual-Tone P38 made in 1944/January 1945 with a correct magazine!
