P 38 ~ Spreewerke (CYQ) ~ Z Prefix ~ 9mm ~ 1945 Production

Description:
This is a great example of the Spreewerke P38 with a COG hammer. The left side of the slide is marked "P.38", "cyq" and "5724 Z". The left side of the frame is marked "5724 Z" and an "Eagle / 88" Waffenamt. The left barrel flat is marked with an "Eagle / 88" and "cyq". The front barrel flat is marked "5724 / Z". The right barrel flat is marked "B 1". The bottom of the locking block is marked "724 / Z", the right side is marked with an "Eagle / 88" and the left side is marked with an Eagle Swastika. The right side of the slide is marked with two "Eagle / 88" Waffenamts, with an Eagle Swastika in the center and the last eagle is unreadable. The front sight is a dovetailed blade. The rear sight is a "U"-notch dovetailed to the rear of the slide. The grips are "Posselt" with the top circles on both marked "1W / 37" and the bottom circle on the left grip is marked with a "7" and "11" on the right. The 8 round magazine is marked "jvd" on the left side. Jvd is the wartime manufacturer code for Erste Nordbohmische Metallwarenfabrik (First North Bohemian Metalware Factory). This Czechoslovakian company supplied magazines to other German manufacturers, primarily Spreewerk, during World War II. 9mm Parabellum

Metal Condition: Great surplus condition with minor finish wear on the front strap
Wood Condition: The grip panels are in excellent condition.
Bore Condition: Bright bore with deep lands and grooves. No pitting or corrosion.
Triggers: SA/DA.
