Here Ancestry Guns presents a Cased Pair of Antique European Percussion Dueling Pistols in a fitted case, made circa the 1840s-50s in Belgium. These pistols feature 9” octagonal barrels with notch rear sights and blade front sights. Locks, trigger guards, barrel tangs, side plates, and pommel caps are engraved. Liege proofed barrels. Single set triggers. Bores have small-groove rifling. Checkered and carved stocks. Great old world craftsmanship.

These would have been great for target purposes among the gentry or for settling matters of honor in one of the most grave ways possible.

The overall condition of both pistols is very good. Patinaed barrels with Damascus twist still visible and some faint case colors on the locks. Both actions are strong and the set triggers are functional. The bores are in good shape for their ages with crisp rifling. One of the pistols lacks the front sight blade. Both examples show average handling wear on the wood with nicely checkered grips. Liege proofs. Engravings are distinct. On one of the pistols a hairline crack is found on the left flat. The included case houses the pistols as well as a mallet, ramrod, powder flask, cap tin, power measure, nipple wrench, ball mold, oiler, and cleaning rod. The case is generally in good shape, though the left hinge is broken. The lid is warped and does not align properly when closed.
