PAIR of SILVER WIRE INLAID British KNIGHT Antique Boxlock FLINTLOCK Pistols MATCHING BRACE of ENGRAVED SELF DEFENSE Pocket Guns
Description: PAIR of SILVER WIRE INLAID British KNIGHT Antique Boxlock FLINTLOCK Pistols MATCHING BRACE of ENGRAVED SELF DEFENSE Pocket Guns Here Ancestry Guns presents an antique Matching Pair of British Silver Wire Inlaid Knight Marked Boxlock Flintlock Pocket/Muff Pistols, made circa the early 1800s in London, England. Though these pistols have “Knight” marked on the lock, they are very similar to those manufactured by Samuel Nock from the same era. Samuel Nock was the nephew of famed innovative gunmaker Henry Nock and apprenticed under him. Samuel was first listed as a gunmaker in 1804 at Hawkesbury Place in London before moving to 180 Fleet Street between 1806 and 1822, and then between 1823 and 1852 he was in business at Regents Circus. After he died in 1851, the business was carried on by the executors from 1853 to 1858. He was also an accomplished gunmaker and worked through the transitional period from flintlocks to percussion systems. He served as a royal gunmaker to the English monarchy from King George III in 1805 up to Queen Victoria starting in 1837. The overall condition is very good. Strong actions. Both bores are smooth and in good shape for their ages. Solid grips, with almost all the wire inlays intact. Engraved frames. Markings are legible and clear. Both barrels thread easily, and seat snuggly. The silver grotesque mask pommel caps are in great shape. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrels are 1-3/4 inches. Calibers are .36 Flintlock Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail!
