Pair of Unusual Flintlock Blunderbuss Folding Trigger Pocket Pistols
Description:
NSN, approximately .60 Caliber, 3 1/2" flared barrels with good, lightly freckled bores. This is a great looking pair of all-brass, fixed barrel, folding trigger pistols with British style martial panoply engraving on the sides of the box frames. No proof or maker’s marks are visible on either pistol, and the brass has developed a mellow ochre patina over time. The centrally hung hammers, frizzens, sliding safeties, and folding triggers have an overall mottled pewter gray patina, with spots of dark freckling scattered throughout. The bag-shaped walnut grips are in very good shape, and have intricate wire inlays, although some sections of wire are now missing. Both actions are fully functional, including the sliding safeties, and the pistols are in fine overall condition. This is a handsome pair of unusual small frame blunderbuss pistols, and would make a stellar addition to any collection. Antique
