"Beautiful Pair of Silver Mounted LePage Flintlock Pistols (AH6175)

Description:
"NSN. Made circa 1840. 65 caliber with 13.5" barrels. This is an exceptional pair of LePage pistols made for the middle eastern market. The barrels each have over 50% of the original blue finished decorated with silver overlay on the end of the barrel near the locks. The locks are marked “LePage Mouthier/ ARQer DU ROI" The wood stocks show minor handling wear. The stocks are free from cracks, chips etc. All of the mountings are embossed silver of the highest quality. There are several known guns similar to this and we have seen it suggested these were made for presentation to middle eastern royalty on orders by King Louis Phillipe.
