ENGRAVED PAIR British Antique NOCK FLINTLOCK Boxlock Pistols SNAP BAYONETS
LONDON Marked with PRE-1813 BIRMINGHAM PROOFS
Description: ENGRAVED PAIR British Antique NOCK FLINTLOCK Boxlock Pistols SNAP BAYONETS LONDON Marked with PRE-1813 BIRMINGHAM PROOFS Here we present an antique Pair of Engraved Nock of London Flintlock Pocket Pistols, both with snap bayonets, made circa the early 1800 in London, England. These guns were manufactured by either Henry Nock or Samuel Nock, who was the nephew of famed innovative gunmaker Henry Nock and apprenticed under him. Samuel was first listed as a gunmaker in 1804 at Hawkesbury Place in London before moving to 180 Fleet Street between 1806 and 1822, and then between 1823 and 1852 he was in business at Regents Circus. After he died in 1851, the business was carried on by the executors from 1853 to 1858. He was also an accomplished gunmaker and worked through the transitional period from flintlocks to percussion systems. He served as a royal gunmaker to the English monarchy from King George III in 1805 up to Queen Victoria starting in 1837. These little self-defense pistols would have been most at home in the pocket of anyone in the busy cities of London, Paris and Liege during the early to mid-1800s. These style pistols are small, light and simple. The “Pocket Pistol” name says it all. They were the "Saturday Night Specials" of the 18th-19th century. Before the Deringer, they were "Gentleman's" or "Muff Pistols", typically, a smaller pistol that was easily concealed. They were favored among the gentry and women because of these traits. Men would carry them concealed in a waistcoat pocket and women would hide them in a hand muff. The overall condition is good. Various traces of original finish can be found, but mostly appear as a gray patina. Strong actions. Both bores have dimmed and remain smooth. Solid grips, both contain light handling evidence. Lightly engraved locks. The bayonets on both pistols “snap” and latch properly! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrels are 2-3/8 inches. Calibers are both .45 Flintlock Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $3300 #250547 Antique: Yes Price: $3,300.00 Buy Now Pay with
