Pair of Unmarked Continental Flintlock Pocket Pistols
Description:
NSN, .50 Caliber, 3 3/8" part octagon cannon style barrels with very good, lightly pitted bores. These are well-made pistols that have had the barrels and locks cleaned to bright at some point, and are reacquiring a lightly freckled patina. The iron trigger guards and grip caps have a somewhat darker, mottled gray and plum-brown patina throughout. There are no proofs or maker’s name visible on either pistol. The pin-fastened walnut stocks are both in very good shape with only some mild handling marks and minor blemishes scattered about the old added oil finish on either gun. The original iron ramrods for each pistol are still present, and both locks are fully functional, catching firmly at both half and full-cock. This is a very nice pair of diminutive pistols, probably French in original, and would make a handsome addition to any collection. Antique
