Spanish Pair of Miguelet Lock Pistols by Canivell. Listed as working in Spain in 1720. Fine pair with 10” two stage barrels (Octagon to round, engraved at the transition) Barrels are inlaid with Canivells maker sinks and Spanish Icons in Brass. The Locks, plates cock and frizzens are engraved in floral motifs as are the brass mounts. The trigger guard bows are silver inlaid with busts of the owner of the pistols as are the side plates. Each pistol has a silver roundel with an engraving of the owner’s family crest. The pistols are 16 ½” overall length. Both pistols have belt hooks at side plates. The actions both function perfectly. These are handsome pistols.
