Para USA made some very good pistols and, honestly, some that were not so great. The GI Expert pistols, however, are viewed in the first category. Solid, dependable, affordable 1911 pistols. Our pistol (serial #: G115245) was purchased by the owner in July, 2011. According to him, it went in the safe and has never been fired. Our inspection leads us to believe this is the case also. Note: Para USA advertised that the Expert pistols were “hand-tuned on the bench and test fired". So, the owner is simply stating that he’s never fired it since purchase.
The barrel on this pistol is the traditional 5 inches in length and the single stack magazine hold 8 rounds. Three dot sights sit on top of the slide.
Both the grips and frame are black and both are in pristine condition.
The standard manual safety sits on the left side of the frame. The grip safety works as intended and depresses easily. The trigger is firm, likely from not having been fired. We would expect the trigger to lighten up with normal use. Bore and barrel, of course, are Mint.
Included with your purchase are two very nice accessories. The first is a black leather 1791 right-hand belt loop holster with retention strap. The second is a black leather 1791 double mag carrier. Both items are, like the pistol, in Mint condition.
Overall, this is a very nice, yet very affordable Like New 1911 pistols with accessories. The pistol feels solid in the hand and this model has generally been praised for accuracy. If you’re a 1911 fan, this pistol is definitely worth a good, long look.
