Late WW2 Nazi Occupation Polish Radom P.35 Pistol in 9mm w/ G.I.-made Custom Grips
** All-Matching & Original Grade III Model ** SOLD
Description: If you have been looking for an all-matching original WW2 Nazi Radom P.35 pistol that you can enjoy as both an investment and as an occasional shooter this is it! This is a late-war Polish Radom P.35 pistol in 9mm Luger that was manufactured during the German occupation of Poland, likely in 1944. Collectors today call this variation a "Grade III", identified by a number of manufacturing shortcuts to speed up production and reduce the amount of skilled labor required to contruct them. This particular example is very attractive and retains most of the factory "military blue" finish. As you can see from the pictures, most of the finish wear is located on the high edges and front and rear grip straps. This is indicative of a combat-used and holster-carried pistol. All of the factory stamps are nice and legible on the slide and frame, and the Nazi Waffenamts are crisp and clean. All of the factory stamped serial numbers are matching, including the frame, barrel, slide, and grip safety. The bore in this Radom is beautiful, mirror-bright with sharp rifling. There is no visible pitting, erosion, or imperfections throughout the bore. This German Radom P.35 most likely would have originally had grooved wooden grips instead of the earlier checkered black/brown plastic grips, one of the shortcuts mentioned earlier to ease production. The Radom now wears a really neat set of homemade acrylic grips made by the G.I. that captured it. These are more than likely fashioned from a piece of aircraft canopy, a popular practice for soliders that had access to a piece of it. Both sides are in good condition, nicely fit, and tight to the pistol without any wiggle. All of the controls on this P.35 are in perfect working order, and the action is slick and locks up into battery perfectly. Despite being a late-war gun where the machining was much rougher than earlier guns, the slide to frame fit is superb. There is no wiggle or slop in the slide whatsoever. This German Radom should function perfectly, just like the day it left the factory. This is really a nice example of this Axis pistol in all respects, and it really is unique with the G.I.-made aircraft canopy grips. This late-war Radom would be a great addition to any WW2 or military weapons collection.
