This is 1911 A1 was manufactured by the Remington Rand Inc. during World War Two. Remington Rand Inc produced about 960,000 1911 A1 pistols during the war. This pistol has its original parkerized finish and is a very good example of the Remington Rand 1911 A1 .45 ACP pistol. The magazine is a WWII vintage "S" stamped Scovill magazine. the barrel has English proof stamps above the chamber and NOT ENGLISH MADE stamped on right side of frame. This pistol was manufactured in 1944. .45 ACP
