Remington 1871 Army Rolling Block Pistol - Presentation Grade

Description:
This .50 cal.,single shot pistol is fully and finely New York engraved in Nimschke style, with period ivory stocks and nickel finish.  Shows approx. 60% original nickel turning bright with traces of gold gilding in protected areas.  Light surface pitting and minor blemishes in a few areas. Stocks are genuine and solid one-piece examples, nicely aged with yellowing and age cracks.
Mechanics and bore are fine to excellent.
Remington markings are absent on this example as was known for some presentation and display models, a practice in conjunction with unusual non-sequential number stampings. This grip frame is stamped with three separated numbers, 597,   12,   343, while the underside of the barrel is stamped with only, 12.
Authenticity verified by Little John's Service and other Remington authorities when I acquired the gun over 20 years ago.
This is an attractive pistol that presents well with no major flaws.
