079-0917-5012, US Remington New Model Army Percussion Revolver. Manufactured from 1863 to 1875 with a majority being manufactured for the U.S. Government during the Civil War. They were the primary Union revolvers after Colt's factory fire. The top barrel flat has the three-line patent/address/model marking, and there are single letter inspector marks throughout. The barrel and both grip panels are numbered to the gun. The left grip panel has a cartouche. Minty set of grips, as good as they get.
Excellent. The revolver retains 90% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown-gray patina. The grips are excellent showing a few minor handling marks and a crisp cartouche. They appear never off the gun. Minty mirror bore. Mechanically excellent in every way.
