Antique U.S. REMINGTON Model 1867 NAVY Rolling Block .50 Caliber CF PISTOL
Scarce Navy Rolling Block POWERHOUSE Pistol
Description: Antique U.S. REMINGTON Model 1867 NAVY Rolling Block .50 Caliber CF PISTOL Scarce Navy Rolling Block POWERHOUSE Pistol Here we present an antique U.S. Remington Rolling Block Model 1867 Navy Pistol made in Ilion, New York circa the late 1860s. The Model 1867 pistol uses a .50 caliber Remington Pistol Center Fire cartridge and a thumb latch activated Rolling Block. These were an update to the previous Model 1865, which was made for rimfire cartridges. The action was quite robust and could easily withstand the increased pressure of the new smokeless powders coming into use by the late 1880s. These had a sturdy, simple action that was relatively inexpensive and was just the ticket for shipboard weapons for the U.S. Navy. These were, in fact, firearms that would not see a whole lot of use the vast majority of the time. An anchor and the ordnance inspector marking of “E.B.”, for Lt. Edward Bartlet, USN, are located on the top of the barrel along with “F.C.W.” on the left frame for Ordnance Inspector Frank C. Warner. The overall condition is near fine. Original blue, case colors, and patina. Robust action. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Both the grip and fore end are good with average dents and dings. Visible remnant of inspector cartouche. A hearty US Naval pistol from the 1860s! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 7 inches. Caliber: .50 Centerfire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $3245 #220012 SOLD Antique: Yes |
