Description: REMINGTON ARMS Model 51 Semi-Automatic .380 ACP Caliber POCKET Pistol C&R Small ROARING TWENTIES Self-Defense Pistol Here we present a C&R Remington Model 51 Pocket Pistol manufactured in Ilion, New York circa 1919. These had a production run between 1918 and 1927. The Remington Model 51 is a small pocket pistol designed by John Pedersen and manufactured by Remington Arms in the early 20th century for the American civilian market. Remington manufactured approximately 65,000 of these little Model 51 pistols in .32 ACP and .380 ACP calibers during its production years, though a very small number were assembled into the mid-1930s. As quoted by Remington in their catalog from the early 1920s, “The Remington Automatic Pistol, Model 51, supplies the popular demand for a pocket arm having advantages of lightness, compactness, ease of operating to deliver a large number of shots quickly, surely, and safely”. The magazine capacity is 7+1 of .380 ACP. It is hammerless with a side ejection and an automatic grip safety which prevents firing unless the grip is pressed with your firing hand. It also includes a thumb safety. The overall condition is very good. Original finish. The action is excellent. The bore is bright with great rifling. The grips are near fine.
