Remington Model 51, Caliber .380acp, Serial Number Pa143XX. What a lovely example of the last Remington pistol to be made before WWII. Production was only from 1918 to 1927. The pistol was designed the very famous John Pedersen and feature several unusual and costly mechanism including a locked breech block. This caused the gun to be somewhat expensive in its day. While it was superior to most of the then current guns the cost caused sales to be too small to keep in production. Not incidentally, it was the favorite personal side arm of General Patton. More history is Available on Wikipedia. This particular gun retains about 95-96% of the original factory blue. There are a couple of very small areas of pin pricks the sharp edges and some very small surface scratches on the left side of the frame and some slight graying of the front grip strap. That's about it. The black Bakelite grips show no wear but the left panel has a small chip on the bottom. The bolt face and feed ramp show little or no wear. The bore is super bright, with sharp crisp rifling and like the rest of the gun shows almost no wear. The gun comes with one correct .380 magazine. A collector gun or an unusual shooter....$549.
