Very EARLY Type II Remington Model 51 Semi Automatic Pistol chambered in .32 ACP from 1922
Description: Another “ESTATE” firearm listing brought to you from Dust 2 Dollars who prides themselves on showing the complete gun in high quality pictures along with a detailed description for your consideration. We offer you a Very “EARLY” Type II Remington Model 51 Semi Automatic Pistol chambered in .32 ACP from 1922. This Remington model 51 is chambered in .32 ACP which first appeared in 1921. This one is an early production from 1922 with the .32 over 7.65 M/M barrel marking and 15 slide serrations. The top of the slide is marked stamped “REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY, INC. ILION WKS. N.Y. U.S.A. PEDERSEN PATENT/PAT’D. MAR.9 20, AUG.3 20, OCT.12 20, JUNE 14 21 OTHERS PENDING.”. If it was a later production it would have had the Remington date code which started in 1922. The right side of the frame the trigger guard has the “Anchor” marking which is an inspector’s mark and has nothing to do with the Navy. The serial number is PA63828, with the prefix “PA” standing for Pedersen Automatic. Since The Remington Model 51 was designed by John D. Pedersen. The right side of the frame is marked “REMINGTON / TRADE MARK”. The slide shows light to moderate pitting as you can see in the pictures. The edges of the trigger guard shows light pitting also. The bore is excellent with no issues and the pistol hand functions just fine. The grips are in very fine condition with no cracks and have faded in color over the last 99 years. It has an original magazine with it that is in very fine condition. The pistol is part of a collection of 51’s and has been sitting for some time. It will need to be cleaned and lubed up before use.
