Rock Island Armory is famous for importing and selling various firearms at very accessible prices, arming citizens with anything from classic-styled revolvers to semi-automatic bullpup shotguns. Possibly the most popular options in the RIA catalog, though, are their 1911-style handguns. With options ranging including the affordable 9mm, classic .45 ACP, eclectic Super .38, powerful 10mm Auto, and even the Rock Island-exclusive .22 TCM, Rock Island offers 1911-style pistols in a wide range of styles and sizes, including classic aesthetics and modern double-stacks. This pistol for sale is a classically-styled Rock Standard Full-Size 5" "Government-size" model in .45 ACP/Auto. The Rock Standard is modeled after production and custom 1911 pistols from the later 20th Century. The Rock Standard has a vintage military-accurate parkerized finish on the cast steel frame and slide. The pistol wears a set of glossy hardwood grips with no checkering. The frame features a standard non-railed dust cover, light texturing on the front strap, a straight checkered mainspring housing, extended beavertail grip safety with memory bump, extended ambidextrous thumb safety, skeletonized grooved curved trigger, and a skeletonized Delta hammer. The slide has vertical rear cocking serrations, blacked-out Novak-style dovetailed iron sights, and a full-length steel guide rod. The gun does have Series 70 internals for a classic 1911 shooting experience and improved trigger performance. This pistol appears to have been lightly used but does have some cosmetic defects including visible wear on the barrel hood, a long scratch on the parkerized finish on the slide, and finish wear on many of the edges of the frame and slide. This Rock Island Armory pistol includes the factory hard plastic case, one 8-round magazine, an additional set of rubber double diamond grips, test-fired casings, and user manual. .45 ACP
