"The Ruger Mark III Hunter is a semi-automatic large-frame hunting pistol chambered in .22 LR.
The Hunter is just one of five within the Mark III family of high quality, low caliber rimfire pistols.
The Mark III is blowback operated, meaning the initial explosion of the cartridge
powers the cycling. It uses an internal cylindrical bolt for its action.
How it’s different from a standard design is it recoils out of the
pistol instead of pushing a slide back.
Features include an accurate fluted/bull barrel and a target crown, which reduces vibrations in the barrel. To help improve safety, the Hunter has a load indicator that pops out when a round is chambered and a magazine disconnect that prevents the pistol from discharging when the magazine is removed. It has fiber optic sights, so the front sight is brightly colored and easy to see. The rear sight is adjustable too.Ruger recommends the Mark III Hunter for hunting varmints, small game, and for leisure shooting." Guns
