This German ""Officer's Model"" 1879 Reichsrevolver was made by Sauer & Sauer, Suhl. It is approx. 12"" in overall length. The 6"" ocatagon to round 10.6mm caliber barrel with cannon muzzle has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling. The gun retains approx. 95% bright blue overall. The serial number, 18, is on the barrel, frame, side plate, and frame screws. The left side of the frame has an oval marking reading S&S. V,C.S. C.C.H. SUHL. This is the Sauer & Sauer trademark. This single action revolver has a safety lever on the left side of the frame below the hammer. The checkered wood grips are excellent with no cracks or chips and only very light wear. They are unusual in that they have a square butt profiile that is very different from the standard Model 1879 Reichsrevolver. The lanyard ring is present. The action functions perfectly. This excellent example of an officer's Reichsrevolver would be hard to umprove upon. Don't miss it!
