J.P. Sauer ~ Model 38H ~ 7.65MM (.32 ACP)
Description: JP Sauer Model 38H chambered in 7.65MM (.32 ACP). The 38H is considered by some to be superior to the more well-known Walther's that were developed around the same time. The 38H is a double-action design with an internal hammer—the "H" in the gun's model designation stood for Hahn. It featured a fixed barrel around which was wrapped a stout recoil spring. Model 38Hs employ a unique de-cocking lever. Lowering the lever cocked the hammer, but one could also safely release the hammer with the same lever when the gun was on full cock by slightly pushing down then easing it upward. Also, this gun has a safety sited on the left rear of the slide. In the "on-safe" position, it blocked the hammer and secured the trigger. A magazine safety prevented operation when the magazine was removed. The eight-round magazine was released by means of a button positioned below the de-cocking lever on the left side of the frame behind the trigger. A cocking indicator protruded from the rear of the slide, allowing the user to determine by sight or feel if the pistol was ready to fire. Stocks are checkered Bakelite. 7.65MM (.32 ACP) SOLD Metal Condition: Excellent Wood Condition: Excellent Bakelite grips Bore Condition: Bright Barrels: 3 1/2 inches Triggers: Factory Sights: Fixed iron sights Item Location: La Vista, NE |
