Description:
This is an early German prewar Sauer 38 variant with no safety lever and Crown/N proofs, chambered in 7.65mm and is among approximately 4000 pistols made in the first year of production. Most of the early Sauer 38 guns went to commercial and SA use before a safety lever was added per German Army request.
The gun retains around 95-97% of its high polished blue with slight toning of the slide with some holster wear but no pitting or rust. The rear sight still has traces of its original red paint as only these early guns had painted sights. Excellent bore and grips. Fully functioning decocking lever.
The early Sauer 38 pistols are highly collectible as they represent only a tiny percentage out of total 250000 guns made.
