ROTH SAUER M1907 .32 RIM FIRE SEMIAUTOMATIC PISTOL
Description: Roth Sauer 7.65 X 17mm Auto Pistol ! Price reduced! Designed by Georg Roth and manufactured by J.P. Sauer & Sohn of Suhl Germany. Designed for the 7.65x17mm Roth-Sauer cartridge. A cartridge of less power than the .32 ACP. This pistol features fixed blade and notch rear sight. Mounting notch for stripper clips, "J.P. SAUER & SOHN, SUHL" barrel marking, the early "PATENT/ROTH" marking on top of the chamber. The serial number "B934" on the butt. The grips are finely checkered and feature the Sauer hunter logo in the center. George Roth and Karl Kranka worked together on the design. It is an improvement of Kranka’s 1898 pistol design. Patented by Roth and Kranka in 1900. The pistol was manufactures by J.P. Sauer & Sohn in Suhl, Germany. Patent rights were sold to Sauer in 1910 and sold under the Roth Sauer name. Kranka’s designs typically used the long recoil design which is unnecessarily complicated and excessively stronger than required for the under powered 7.65 x 17 Roth Sauer cartridge. Upon firing, the barrel and bolt are locked together, using a rotary bolt design. Both recoil together through the full recoil stroke. The bolt then contacts a cam which rotates the bolt to release the barrel to return to the firing position. During this forward travel the empty case is ejected. When the barrel reaches its forward position it trips the bolt stop allowing it to begin its forward travel. As it travels forward it strips a cartridge from the magazine, loads it into the chamber, rotates the bolt face and locks it to the barrel. The Roth Sauer is fired by a striker which is partially cocked when the bolt closes. Pulling the trigger continues the cocking of the weapon and at the end of the stroke, releases the striker to fire the cartridge. The cocking knob at the rear of the bolt also acts as the safety, locking the bolt in position and obstructing the trigger from being pulled when turned. The piece is magazine fed by utilizing a fixed magazine within the grip. A stripper clip is used to charge the magazine. An interesting and scarce, early automatic pistol. . If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Shipping and insurance costs are yours, 5usually $180.00. Alaska, Hawaii, double the shipping charge. No sales to California.
