The Sig Sauer P290, produced from 2011 to 2017, is a subcompact handgun known for its polymer frame and stainless steel slide treated with a black Nitron finish. Chambered in 9×19mm Parabellum, the P290 features a durable polymer grip section and comes with a 6-round magazine as standard, with an optional 8-round magazine that includes an extended baseplate. The pistol's sights are tritium-illuminated Siglight Night Sights, and it also offers an optional laser sight for enhanced aiming. The P290 is notable for its double-action-only (DAO) trigger, which activates a hammer to fire the cartridge.
