Description:
Early configuration SIG P49 single action military pistol with 4.75” barrel and drift adjustable front and rear sight. The left side of the slide and frame are proofed and marked with the full serial number that is repeated on the right side of the barrel hood. Safety detents are marked with an “S” in white and “F” in red. “P” release on the front of trigger guard. Disassembly shows an updated, non-marked hammer group with half cock. Fitted with serrated walnut grips secured with fire blued screw. Fixed lanyard ring. Complete with two matte finish magazines and Swiss military holster dated "57" having battle ready stud and military shoulder strap dated "60".
Condition:
Near excellent original salt blue with wear as expected from a pistol that has seen light field use, largely from the holster, as the front strap is as-new with no suggestion of touch-up. VG+ grips, the right panel with more handling marks. Vg/VG+ matte finish magazines. Mirror bright bore. Perfect manual mechanics. VG+ holster and strap, both with scattered scuffs and staining as photographed, nicely manufacturer marked and dated. An attractive, high polish Swiss military P49, with an upgraded 1/2 cock hammer group, complete with two matte finished magazines and an early-dated holster and strap.
