Gorgeous, original finish SIG P49 Swiss Military pistol, caliber 9mmP, with high polish finish and wood serrated grips, this example with an early, unnumbered / reworked hammer group without half cock, mirror bore, correct manual mechanics and a 1950 dated holster. Early production SIG p49 high polish Swiss military pistol, SN: A103174, caliber 9mmP, with 4.75? barrel, serrated ramp front sight and U-notch rear sight, both drift-adjustable. Left side of slide with the oval SIG logo, full A-prefix serial number on the left side of the slide, frame, and right side of exposed chamber. Unnumbered / reworked hammer group that does not have a half cock. Raised/haloed inspection mark on left rail. "P" release in front of trigger guard. Flat checkered slide release. Walnut grips with horizontal serrations, cutting through the finish, secured with a single fire blued screw. Two single-stack blued magazines with eight-round capacity, seven indicator holes, and detachable floorplates. Complete with original holster, ownership markings inked inside lid, dated 1950. A classic pistol that was one of the most expensive to produce in military history!
Condition:
EXC bright original salt blue with holster wear as expected from a pistol that has seen light field use, most of the wear at front of rails. No thinning of frontstrap or suggestion of touch-up. Comparable condition grips with scattering of light handling marks, mostly on the right panel. Mirror bright bore. Perfect manual mechanics with both magazines. VG+ holster, with scattered scuffs and staining as photographed, nicely manufacturer marked and dated. A very attractive, high polish military P49 with an early hammer group and correctly dated holster.
