Outstanding SIG SP 47/8 Schweden Series Pistol in 7.65mm with one original 47/8 magazine
The SP 47/8 was one of the very earliest models in the SIG P210 lineage, serial 6332 will place this gun roughly in the middle of the lot of 480 guns to the Swedish Shooting Association, or “Schweden Series”.
These 47/8s have the loaded chamber indicator included on the later P210-4s delivered to BGS in Germany in the early 50s, but removed in later P210 versions. Other notable differences to the P210 include the lack of a lanyard loop, safety catch on the hammer and a shorter ramp on the barrel, which was introduced around serial 6500.
The slide, barrel, frame are all matching numbered with the full serial and the hammer assembly carrying the last three numbers, as correct for a 47/8
All parts show minimal wear, internally and externally, and the gun is in excellent mechanical condition. Frame and slide show some minimal wear on edges from 75 years of mostly storage, retaining most or the original bluing. Grips are also correct with a couple of small dings and the common fine cracks around the beavertail.
Included with the gun is an extremely hard to find 47/8 magazine. These magazines lack the crease on the left side and due to the construction with a slightly higher back than later model magazines, they were prone to cracking and breaking even with limited use. As such,very few 47/8 magazines still exist, as they were discarded for the newer and improved model. This magazine is showing the failure experienced by this model, but is still functional. A later model magazine is also included.
An absolute gem for the picky collector. SP 47/8s in this condition are rare finds and even more so with the original magazine.
