Description:
Standard configuration SIG p49 high polish Swiss military pistol with 4.75" barrel, serrated ramp front sight and U-notch rear sight, both drift-adjustable. Left side of slide with the oval SIG logo, full A-prefix serial number on the left side of the slide, frame, and right side of exposed chamber; the last four digits found on the original hammer group that does not have a half cock. Inspection mark on left rail and "P" release mark on the left side of upper trigger guard web, both cutting through the blue. Walnut grips with horizontal serrations, cutting through the finish, secured with a single fire blued screw. Single-stack blued magazine with eight-round capacity, seven indicator holes, and detachable floorplate. Complete with a reproduction box as usually shipped with commercial guns, this example with white handwritten label "SIG 210 / armée Suisse". A classic pistol, the P49/P210 that served from 1949 to 1975 with the Swiss Army was one of the most expensive service pistols to produce in military history!
Condition:
Stunning 99+% bright original salt blue finish with only minimal sharp edge wear. The frontstrap is nearly new. In-the-white parts in comparable condition including barrel, trigger, hammer and slide release. Grips retaining virtually all their original varnish with only a few very superficial handling marks. Mirror bore. Correct manual mechanics. Shipping box with liner is an excellent condition reproduction.
