Why the West German Models Stand Out
Before the 1990 reunification of Germany, firearms produced at the SIG-Sauer factory in Eckernförde were stamped "Made in W. Germany". These early iterations are beloved for specific characteristics.

• Stamped & Welded Slide: Unlike modern solid-steel milled slides, early P226s feature a folded carbon-steel slide with a pinned breechblock, giving them a distinct balance and feel. 
• Classic Contours: They feature a distinctive legacy slide profile and iconic pebble-style plastic grips. [1]
• Craftsmanship: Many SIG enthusiasts feel that the fit, finish, and overall mechanical smoothness of these legacy pistols are superior to later production models. 

In 2011, the P226R that slipped into the US came in two different versions: One with a classic stamped carbon steel slide, classic grips, and night sights (this model was known as the E26R-9-BSS-GER). The other had a milled stainless steel slide, E2 grips, and classic sights (known as the E26R-9-B-GER). Both versions had triple-proof markings; meaning a serial number on the frame and barrel, and production markings on the slide, indicating that the gun was completely made and assembled in Germany.

Customers should carefully inspect all firearms prior to having the firearm transferred into the customer's possession. Firearms (including lower receivers and frames) are not eligible for return after transfer into the customer's possession. If a defect is discovered in any of these items after the transfer, the customer should contact the manufacturer directly to submit a warranty claim.

Huron Valley Guns WILL NOT transfer to a customer's residence. Some firearms may or may not be transferred or sold to the customer due to restrictions of that person's State of Residence.
