The commercialized version of the U.S. Military's newest service pistol, the P320 M18 is a polymer striker-fired semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9mm Luger (9mm Parabellum/9x19mm). With a 3.6" barrel and shortened overall slide length compared to the M17 models, the M18 replicates the military's compact M18 officer model. Though the overall length is shorter for faster draws from holster, more comfort when carried inside-the-waistband, and a faster cyclic rate, the grip of the pistol is still a full-size length and carries 17 rounds of 9mm in a flush magazine—upped to 21 with the included extended magazines.
